What is DollCon Dallas?
  • Our Business model:
      • Making the con affordable and accessible for attendees and vendors.
      • Embracing all types of dolls, figures, and plushies.
      • Fostering acceptance and community for all attendees
  • DollConDallas is a not-for-profit event
      • Our staff members receive a free ticket but no other compensation for their work.
  • DCD is a convention, not a doll show
    • While we have a fantastic vendor room, DCD focuses on socializing with other attendees and learning new things. Our panel room, hangout room, and photography space are always free to ticket holders. You can sign up for available paid or free workshops HERE. We do not have display space.
  • We do not value, price, sell, or otherwise dispose of doll collections, nor can we help you do so.

What is your ticket policy?
  • You must have a valid ticket to participate in DollCon Dallas activities.
  • Your ticket gives you entrance to both days of the convention.
  • There is no unticketed entry into any of the DCD spaces.
  • You can purchase tickets HERE!
  • Tickets are not mailed ahead of time.
  • You can’t volunteer in exchange for a badge. We operate with a staff and don’t use volunteers at this time. You can pick up your convention badge at the registration desk outside the vendor room beginning at 9:00am on Saturday of the convention
What are your age requirements?
  • No infants or children under the age of 16 may attend DollCon Dallas.
    • The dolls at our convention are beloved and cost a ton of time, emotional investment, and money.
    • Our age limit prevents minor children from being left in DCD’s care or stranded without a ride home at closing time.
    • Parents/guardians are legally and financially responsible for any and all damages to hotel, convention, or other attendees’ property caused by minors under their supervision.
Do I have to be a doll owner to participate?

Absolutely not! We encourage admirers, future doll owners, those supporting their doll-owning partners, and people who are just plain curious. Our community is very welcoming – come on in and get to know us!

What types of dolls are allowed?
  • Legitimate dolls, figures, and plushies of any kind are welcome and encouraged to attend.
  • We understand that everyone has their favorite type of doll. You will most likely see a doll, figure, or plushie you don’t like at some point during the weekend. Everyone has a right to collect what makes them happy. DCD has a strict anti-bullying policy, and we ask that attendees keep negative comments about other dolls or attendees to themselves.
What’s your recast/counterfeit policy?

DollCon Dallas is NOT recast-friendly. Recast, bootleg, unlicensed, counterfeit, or copied items may not be discussed, sold, traded, displayed, or promoted at our event and may not be discussed or posted on our Facebook pages, website community, or Discord server. Participation in any pro-recast activities at the convention, including selling, discussing, promoting, etc., will result in badge confiscation and removal from the convention without refunds. No exceptions

Are you handicap accessible?
  • Yes! Our hotel and convention spaces are ADA-compliant and accommodate wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, and other ADA-approved mobility devices. Should you need chairs or tables moved in the panel, hangout, or workshop spaces, our room managers are happy to help!
  • You may not use large bags, rolling doll carriers, luggage, or strollers as walking assistance devices. These items are not allowed in any of the DollCon Dallas rooms. All mobility devices need to be intended for medical use. If you need help walking, please bring an appropriate assistive device, such as a cane, walker, scooter, or wheelchair.
  • If you have a mobility or hearing impairment and would like reserved seating, please email info@dollcondallas.com, and we hold seats in your name that conform to your needs as much as possible.  For example, you can tell us that you prefer to be in the front of a room, on an aisle, or as far away from foot traffic as possible.
  • For liability reasons, our staff can not push wheelchairs, lift, support, carry, or guide attendees. Nor can they assist with social or emotional impairments, disabilities, or crises. If you might need personal assistance during the convention, please bring a helper along so that you can be as comfortable as possible. Helpers must have a badge.
  • We cannot provide first aid or administer medication.  If an emergency occurs, we will call 911 so that professionals can treat you safely.
  • Comfort or emotional support animals are not allowed at DollCon Dallas. Service dogs are very welcome! Service animals must be dogs. Under national and state law, an animal that provides only comfort or emotional support is not considered a service animal. We all know how comforting our fur babies can be, and the hotel does allow pets. Consider getting a hotel room and popping up to see your animal if necessary.
What are the vendor room and sales policies?
  • Our vendor room has paid commercial booths, and offering swaps with vendors is not allowed. Attendees may only sell or swap during the Sunday Swap & Sell meet. Swap & Sell spots are free, and you can register for one HERE.
  • You can see a list of our vendors and their products HERE.
  • Large bags (such as duffel bags), rolling doll carriers, luggage, and strollers are prohibited in ALL of the DollCon Dallas rooms. They may not be used as walking assistance devices. These items are trip and fall hazards. They take up too much room in seating areas and hallways and pose a risk to attendees with mobility issues. If you need help walking, please bring an appropriate mobility assistance device like a cane, walker, or scooter.
  • All beverages must have secured lids.
  • The Vendor Room has a capacity of 100 people. If this limit is reached, there may be a wait for vendor room entrance.
  • No sitting is allowed in the vendor room. Our hangout room and the lobby area have space to rest, chat, and put your dolls down.
  • Our vendor room, like all DollCon Dallas spaces, accommodates wheelchairs, scooters, and other ADA-approved mobility devices. Strollers, rolling luggage, etc. are not approved mobility devices.
  • Only dealers who have paid for a vendor table and who have signed a contract with DollCon Dallas may sell or give away anything. You may not advertise anything, give away literature or solicit our attendees for any reason. The exception for sales/giveaways is at the Swap & Sell meet on Sunday afternoon. No solicitation/information giving is allowed at the Swap & Sell
I want to be a vendor and/or do a panel!
  • DCD panels and vendors are invitation-only. We post a public form each year in April that you can use to send us your panel/presenter/topic ideas. If you make a submission that’s a good fit for the convention, we’ll contact you.
  • The vendor room is curated. If we put out a public call for vendor applications, successful applicants will have high-quality items and a wide variety, not just a few different things. The exception will be doll companies/artists who only sell dolls.
  • If you sell 3D printed models you must submit proof that the items are an original sculpt or that you have express permission to sell a downloaded model. Paying or tipping for models does not mean the creator has granted commercial rights.
What’s the food and beverage policy?
  • Food is not allowed in the DCD rooms.
  • Beverages must have caps or lids.
  • The Westin Central Park Dallas has a full restaurant.
  • NO food deliveries/pickups (Uber Eats, DoorDash, pizza, fast food, etc.), heating/cooling appliances, or coolers are allowed in con spaces.   Those staying at the hotel may have food delivered to the main lobby and eat in their rooms.
  • The hotel rooms have mini refrigerators, and microwaves are available in the lobby area.
  • Nearby restaurants include In-and-Out Burger, I Love Pho, Benihana, Jack In The Box, Taco Casa, Benihana, and Rio Bravo.

Why Don’t You…..
  • Have evening events?
    • We keep our prices low by renting our rooms for fewer hours. A shorter day gives our staff, vendors, and attendees time to eat and rest.  It also allows commuting attendees to leave at a safe, reasonable time.
    • Many attendees hold private room parties, organize dinners or other social activities.  While they are not official DCD events, we post a list of social events on our website.
  • Have food events?
    • The Westin Park Central doesn’t allow outside food, and the price of food provided by the hotel is very high.  We also want to avoid accidentally making attendees with food allergies or sensitivities sick, or leaving people on specialized diets without enough food options.
    • Attendees are encouraged to organize group dinners at one of the nearby restaurants!
  • Have a free vendor day?
    • We charge just enough to pay for the hotel rental and operating costs (badges, paper, etc.) so that more people can attend.  We also keep our vendor table prices low so sellers have an easier time making a profit.  Hosting a free shopping day might result in low ticket sales and force us to cancel the convention.
  • Have a yearly theme?
    • DCD’s most significant goal is to make the entire convention as accessible as possible. We don’t have themes that may leave people out due to time, creative or financial constraints.
  • Hold contests?
    • Like a yearly theme, contests leave a lot of people out for a variety of reasons.  Contest categories and judging are also highly subjective and often create negative feelings toward the judges, other contestants, and the convention as a whole.
What do I do if I have a problem during the convention?
  • If it’s related to the DollCon Dallas room that you’re in, please start with the room manager. If you need further assistance, our managers can get you to a director anytime during con hours. Our staff will do as much as possible to help resolve your DCD-related problem.
  • Please direct problems concerning the hotel to the Westin’s front desk.  You can find the front desk to the left of the vendor room entrance.
  • You can always find convention help at the registration table outside the vendor room entrance during con operation hours.
